چکیده
Abstract Aim The aim of this paper is to compare the functional outcomes and complication rates ankle fractures treated with retrograde tibiotalocalcaneal nail (TTC) open reduction internal fixation (ORIF). Method Matched cohorts according age Charlson Comorbidities Index (CCI) (mean=6) were established by performing a retrospective search prospectively collated Bluespier® database for patients within our unit who underwent TTC nailing (ORIF) acute trauma from 2015 2021. Results 32 (8 males/ 24 females) identified in both ORIF groups mean ages 78.4 (55–96) 78.3 (52–93) respectively. Mean follow-up length was 6 months groups. All classified AO classification. 3.1% 44A, 71.9% 44B, 25% 44C group compared 59.4% 44B 37.5% group. Surgical site infection rate 9.4% 6.3% Both had similar implant failure 9.4%. 2/32 (6.3%) suffered periprosthetic 1 them required re-operation. 45% returned their pre-injury level mobility 40.6% at last follow up. Conclusions Our study showed that can be useful treatment option comorbid elderly, restoring function enabling return full weight bearing immediately after surgery.

Open Reduction with Internal Fixation of Mandibular Angle Fractures: A Retrospective Study.
OBJECTIVE The goal of this project was to report the complications associated with mandibular angle fractures and identify variables affecting their occurrence. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the charts of patients with a mandibular angle fracture treated at the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec between 2009 and 2013. RESULTS Seventy-eight patients (73 males) aged 15-59 years ...
متن کاملThe functional outcome of surgically treated unstable pelvic ring fractures by open reduction, internal fixation
Abstract Background: Unstable Pelvic fracture, a result of high energy antero-posterior compression injury, has been managed based on internal fixation and open reduction. The mode of fixation in Unstable Pelvic fracture has, however, been a subject of controversy and some authors have proposed a need to address the issue of partial breach of the pelvic ring elements in these injuries. This st...
متن کاملPosterolateral approach for open reduction and internal fixation of trimalleolar ankle fractures.
posterior malleolar fracture is a displaced fragment that involves more than 25%–35% of the articular surface of the distal tibia. A number of different surgical approaches to this fracture have been advocated. Often, the posterior fragment reduces simultaneously when the lateral malleolus is reduced because of their respective attachments to the posteroinferior tibiofibular ligament (PITFL). T...
متن کاملSurgical Site Infections Following Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Ankle Fractures
BACKGROUND Ankle fracture fixation is one of the most commonly performed orthopaedic procedures. Although the results are generally favourable, complications are not uncommon, particularly in the case of surgical site infections. These have considerable impact on both postoperative morbidity and healthcare costs. Paradoxically, there is a paucity of literature studying patients who sustain them...
متن کاملOpen reduction internal fixation of lateral humeral condyle fractures in children. A series of 105 fractures from a single institution
Lateral humeral condyle fractures account for 17 % of the distal humeral condyle fractures. Displaced and/or rotated fractures require appropriate reduction and stabilisation. There are, however, a number of controversies in the surgical management of these patients. The aim of the present study was to review the results of patients with a displaced lateral humeral condyle fracture treated with...
